How Babe Hair Extensions Changed the Way I Work: A Certified Educator’s Perspective

By Janelle Alexis | Hair Education & Brand Partners

I’ve worked with a lot of extension brands over the course of my career. Some were fine. Some were disappointing. And then there was Babe Hair Extensions — a brand that genuinely changed how I think about hair quality, installation technique, and client experience. I became a certified Babe Hair educator not because someone handed me an opportunity, but because I believed in the product that deeply.

What Sets Babe Apart

Babe Hair Extensions uses 100% Remy human hair — meaning the cuticles are intact and aligned in the same direction. This is the gold standard for hair extensions because it means the hair behaves like your own: it doesn’t tangle at the ends, it takes color and heat beautifully, and it maintains its texture over time with proper care. I’ve had clients hold onto their Babe wefts through three or four reinstalls, which is remarkable for the industry.

The other thing that sets Babe apart is their commitment to color variety. They offer an extensive shade range including highlights and lowlights, which means I can create a multi-dimensional, blended look without always having to custom color the extensions. For a busy salon, that efficiency matters enormously.

What Being a Brand Educator Means to Me

When you become a brand educator, you’re not just a salesperson for the product — you’re a representative of the craft. I take that seriously. When I train other stylists on Babe Hair products and techniques, I’m passing on not just the technical knowledge but the ethos: extensions done well change how a woman feels about herself. That’s a gift. Don’t rush it. Don’t cut corners. Deliver a result every time that earns trust.

I’ve had the privilege of training stylists across Texas and beyond on installation techniques, consultation processes, and how to build a profitable extension menu in their own salons. These conversations are some of the most fulfilling work I do outside of the chair.

A Note on Transparency

I want to be clear: my positive opinion of Babe Hair is based on my real experience using the product. I am a certified educator which means I have a professional relationship with the brand — but every opinion I share about any product I recommend is based on what I’ve seen work for real clients in my real salon. I will never recommend something I don’t believe in.
